Coach and Player Conduct
All players and coaches are reminded to treat each student and official with respect.
Coaches must direct all question to the up official through their floor captain.
Start Times
All games are scheduled to start at the specified time, therefore each team should be warm in case they do not have time to warm up on the court.
Teams will default a match if they are not ready to play 15 minutes after the posted start time. (Lose the first match or a match for each 15 minutes you are late).
Referee Allocation
Our referee allocation is done through the Coordinator and Rick Cross. The Coordinator will set up the schedule for referee allocation at the beginning of the season. If a change is made mid-season, please contact Sean and Rick directly to inform them of the change.
Host sites are responsible to provide the umpire and minor officials (score keepers and linesmen). The 1st Referee will be provided whenever possible. If a referee cannot be allocated, the host school will be responsible for the Up Officials.
All referees are paid $30 per game, plus $25 transportation costs. Host schools must pay the referees and get the referee to sign a receipt. All receipts are to be submitted to the Coordinator at the end of the season.
Reporting Scores
All scores should be sent to the Coordinator (coordinator@gvisaa.com) by both teams after completion of the game. Preferably the same day as the game.
Player Discipline
All GVISAA participants are expected to maintain the highest standard of fair play in all competitions. Any player or coach receiving disciplinary action during a game may be subject to further review by the discipline committee and could face sanctions.
Rosters
Please print off your BCSS STARS roster, with numbers for the players inserted, and bring a copy for the referee, as well as one for the opposing coach to each game. If a player is not on the roster, they are not eligible for the game. If a player is playing up from a lower division team, make sure you bring both exnet rosters and indicate which player(s) is/are playing up.
Playoffs:
The top 6 teams in each division make the play-offs. The first round is a cross-over round if there are multiple divisions. Seed #1 and #2 get a first round bye. The higher seed hosts the play-off games.
